Good Day Families of Higgins Students,

We had a very good school start, and I'm excited for the rest of the school year at Higgins.  The following is what's coming up for the week of September 9.

School Council

The first school council meeting will take place this Tuesday, September 10 starting at 6:30 PM in the School Learning Commons.  The is not the Annual General Meeting, as that will take place during the October meeting.  Parents of Higgins Students are more than welcome to attend this and all school council meetings. 

Athletics

A week into the school year and the athletics schedule is full speed ahead. Here is what your kids can expect this week.

Monday, September 9:

  • Girls soccer:  2:45 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Sr. Boy's Basketball Tryouts:  2:45 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Jr. Boy's Basketball Tryouts:  4:00 PM - 5:15 PM

Tuesday, September 10:  

  • Boy's Soccer:  2:45 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Jr. and Sr. Girl's Basketball Tryouts:  2:45 PM - 4:00 PM

Wednesday, September 11:

  • Cross Country Meet at Annie Gale School:  4 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Girl's Soccer:  2:45 PM - 4:00 PM

School Celebration

This is a big week for Mrs. Lamabe, our School Administrative Secretary.  Friday, Marks Mrs. Lamabe's last day as she begins her retirement.   We wish her the absolute best in her new adventure.

Starting on Monday, September 16, Mrs. Park will take the step to being our new Administrative Secretary, and Ms. Lisa Hennessey will be joining Higgins as the new school secretary.  We know both of them will serve the school and community well in their new roles.
