Support for Students at the CBE
Our students’ success is our top priority and we understand that our students live complex lives and that many factors both in school and outside of school can affect their ability to learn. The CBE offers a variety of services (such as Culture and Linguistic Support, Exceptional and Special Needs, and Psychological Services) to support students, their families and our school, so students can be successful learners.
Dr. Gordon Higgins has partnerships with several outside agencies/companies who provide ongoing support to our students and their families. Some of the partnerships include:
- Norton Rose Fulbright - provides field trip opportunities, writing contests, food and volunteers
- Staples - school supplies (Back Pack for Kids program)
- Education Matters - grants from private donors (could include: food subsidies, learning opportunities, resources)
- Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids (bb4ck) - provides funds for the school to purchase snacks/lunch foods for students who require food. You can sign-up via their website: https://bb4ck.org/help/
- President's Choice Children's Charity - provides funds for the school to purchase snacks/lunch foods for students who require food
- Anonymous donor - 32 Chromebooks donated to the school to lend to families in need of technology while at home learning is taking place
