Celebrating Northeast Calgary

In his business class, Mr. Brar is introducing his students to some Northeast success stories.  Some of these individuals are former Higgins Students, and others have grown up in the Northeast and have worked hard to make Northeast a better place.

This past week in the Grade 9 Business class we had a multi-talented speaker:

Aliya Abdallah, a proud Dr. Gordon Higgins alumnus whose work since leaving Higgins in 2017 should be celebrated by the entire community. After high school, Aliya would earn a scholarship to play soccer for Mount Royal University and attend MRU - Bissett School of Business. After her 4-year journey at MRU, she would be the Centennial Gold Medal recipient for the Mount Royal University Faculty of Business & Communication Studies. The Centennial Gold Medal Award commemorates a deep tradition of academic achievement and leadership at Mount Royal University and is the highest award for student academic achievement. Additionally, as an entrepreneur, she has started her own company Clean Energy Nutrition, a natural sport supplement company that is dedicated to creating clean, sustainable energy solutions for athletes and health enthusiasts. Last month, she officially launched her first product: Clean Energy Pre-Workout, an all-natural, clinically dosed supplement designed to boost energy, enhance focus, and elevate workout performance.

The students in Mr. Brar’s business class were so proud and inspired that a former Dr. Gordon Higgins School student has accomplished so much at such a young age!

We wish her the best on her amazing journey!

Student Feedback

“She is a lot like me, but now I know it’s only the effort that counts, not the natural talent. I can’t just let my talents do the work” - Grade 9 DGH Business student

Sincerely,

Colin McCracken
