Report Cards

Report Cards will be available for viewing on your MyCBE Account on January 27.  If you require a paper report card, please contact Mrs. Park at 403-777-7060.

Grade 9s

The next six months are pivotal for grade 9s as they prepare to enter High School.  At the end of January students will be asked to make option selections for High School, and Grade 9 core teachers will be asked to make course recommendations for High School  based on their current achievement.  High schools will honour those recommendations.  Parents who disagree with the recommendations must plead their case with the High School.  Dr. Gordon Higgins will not take part in discussions to change those recommendations.

If students are placed in a lower course stream, and improve their standing by the end of the year, teachers may change their recommendations at that time.  We encourage students to take course work seriously, complete all assignments, seek help when they need it, and do their best, as it is their own future they are working for.  It is my hope that students put themselves in the best possible position to be successful in High School.

High School Designations

As it stands now, students who live in Temple and Rundle will be designated to Lester B. Pearson.  Students who live in Redstone and Skyview will be designated to James Fowler.  Students who live in Homestead will be designated to Forest Lawn High School.

If you currently have an address outside of these areas, your child will be designated to the school for that address.

Please stat tuned for announcements regarding High School tours.  Lester B. Pearson will have both a daytime student tour, as well as a tour in the evening for parents and students.  James Fowler is only having an evening tour.

If you have questions about the High School process please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.

Sincerely,

Colin McCracken

Principal
