Dearf Families of Higgins Students, and Next Year Families of Higgins Students!

You are invited to the Grand Opening of our Basketball Court this Friday, June 21st from 6pm - 7:30pm. The basketball court which is situated directly north of the school is a test of perseverance. Planning for the sport court started during the covid pandemic spearheaded by current teacher Mr. Brar, former teacher  Mr. Richards, and former Principal Mrs. Hurst. School council got on board immediately, lobbied the Alberta Government for funds, and then aggressively fundraised themselves to assist in making the dream come true. The pandemic and water restrictions held us back, but finally we are ready to celebrate.

It was always the vision of the school council to use the basketball court as community building.  Not only does the court give the school a valued space daily during the school day, it also provides the community with an official sized basketball court that kids and community members can use during evenings, weekends, and all summer long.  This is literally a gift to the community from Dr. Gordon Higgins School.  A court of this size does not exist anywhere else in the communities of Rundle and Temple.  It's a BIG DEAL.

The Grand Opening starts this Friday at 6pm and goes until 7:30pm.  Here's what we have planned for you.
